How to Integrate MediaMarkt Marketplace with M2E Mirakl Connect

5 min read

This guide covers the steps required to connect MediaMarkt Marketplace to M2E Mirakl Connect.

Once the connection is active, M2E can exchange marketplace data with MediaMarkt through the Mirakl API. You can use it to:

  • export products and offers,
  • synchronize inventory and prices,
  • import orders,
  • update shipment status and tracking,
  • and review marketplace validation results.

MediaMarkt is a Mirakl-based marketplace. As a result, its catalog, offer, order, and fulfillment processes follow the standard Mirakl structure.

Outside M2E Mirakl Connect #

Before you start the integration, you need an active MediaMarkt seller account and access to the marketplace's Mirakl environment.

MediaMarkt is part of MediaMarktSaturn, one of Europe's major consumer electronics retail groups.

Its marketplace network currently covers:

  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Germany
  • Italy
  • Netherlands
  • Poland
  • Spain
  • Switzerland

These are country-specific marketplaces rather than one shared European seller account.

Check whether MediaMarkt fits your catalog #

MediaMarkt mainly targets electronics and technology-related products.

Common categories include:

  • electronics,
  • home appliances,
  • computers,
  • mobile accessories,
  • gaming,
  • media,
  • smart home and lifestyle technology,
  • refurbished products approved by MediaMarkt.

MediaMarkt is best suited to sellers that can provide structured product data and support reliable marketplace operations.

For growing businesses, this becomes more important when the same catalog must be managed across several MediaMarkt countries.

Get your seller account #

MediaMarkt must approve your business before you can connect it to M2E Mirakl Connect.

Start your application on the MediaMarkt marketplace seller page.

Be ready to provide information such as:

  • company and contact details,
  • EU VAT registration,
  • product categories,
  • EU warehouse details,
  • return address,
  • customer service information,
  • previous marketplace experience or performance.

MediaMarkt reviews applications before creating seller access. The process may differ by country and product category.

After approval, you receive access to the Mirakl seller back-end. This is the account you will use when setting up the integration with M2E.

Cost of selling on MediaMarkt #

Before launching your catalog, account for the standard marketplace fees:

  • Setup: no setup fee
  • Monthly subscription: EUR 39.00
  • Sales commission: 7%-15%, depending on category
  • Payments: scheduled for the 1st, 11th, and 21st of each month

Fulfillment remains the seller's responsibility. You also control pricing, customer service, returns, and overall marketplace performance.

Inside M2E Mirakl Connect #

M2E Mirakl Connect links your Adobe Commerce or Magento catalog and order workflow with MediaMarkt.

The connection uses the Mirakl API. After setup, M2E can keep the main marketplace data synchronized without your team having to update both systems separately.

This includes:

  • product offers,
  • pricing,
  • available quantity,
  • marketplace orders,
  • order statuses,
  • shipment tracking.

For businesses selling across several MediaMarkt countries, you can connect the required Mirakl shops and manage them alongside your Magento catalog.

How to connect your MediaMarkt account #

Before starting, make sure you have access to the MediaMarkt Mirakl seller portal and a valid API key.

Then complete the setup in M2E Mirakl Connect:

  1. Install M2E Mirakl Connect in Adobe Commerce.
  2. Sign in to your M2E account (or create one).
  3. Add the required MediaMarkt Mirakl shop.
  4. Enter the marketplace API URL and API key.
  5. Match your MediaMarkt listings with Magento products.
  6. Configure stock, price, and order synchronization.

If you operate in more than one MediaMarkt country, repeat the account setup for each Mirakl shop you need to manage.

Day-to-day management #

Once the setup is complete, Magento remains the main source for your catalog and inventory data. M2E sends relevant changes to MediaMarkt and imports marketplace orders back into Magento. This reduces the need to maintain the same information in several systems.

Connect your catalog #

Link existing products

If you already sell on MediaMarkt, start by linking your existing listings to Magento products. M2E uses this link to identify which Magento SKU belongs to each marketplace listing.

After linking, M2E can:

  • update stock,
  • update prices,
  • keep offer status aligned,
  • process orders against the correct Magento product.

Publish new products

Create new MediaMarkt listings directly from your Magento product data. Once the products are published on the marketplace, M2E continues managing their prices and quantities based on the information in your store.

Use policies for different product groups #

Large catalogs rarely use the same rules for every product.

M2E policies let you create reusable synchronization settings and assign them to specific groups of products.

For example, you may use separate policies for:

  • different brands,
  • low-stock products,
  • premium ranges,
  • country-specific assortments,
  • products with different pricing strategies.

Instead of editing hundreds of listings, you can update the policy once. M2E then applies the new settings to all products that use it.

This helps keep marketplace operations consistent as your catalog grows.

Map products to MediaMarkt categories #

Each product must use the correct MediaMarkt category.

Category mapping affects which attributes MediaMarkt expects and whether a listing passes validation.

Use M2E Mirakl Connect to assign or update categories when:

  • adding a new product range,
  • linking existing listings,
  • expanding to another MediaMarkt country,
  • correcting marketplace validation issues.

Always review the required attributes after changing a category.

Process MediaMarkt orders #

MediaMarkt orders can be imported into Magento automatically.

When automatic order creation is enabled, M2E creates a Magento order for each new marketplace sale. Your team can then process the order through the existing Magento workflow.

M2E can also send shipment status and tracking information back to MediaMarkt after fulfillment. If automatic order creation doesn’t fit a specific workflow, Magento orders can also be created manually.

On the MediaMarkt marketplace side #

MediaMarkt controls many listing rules through Mirakl.

For large catalogs, consistent product data is important. A single missing mapping can affect many listings, so it is better to standardize key attributes before export.

Product data requirements #

Every product should include the core data required by MediaMarkt:

  • Brand
  • 13-digit EAN / GTIN
  • Merchant SKU
  • Main product image

The brand must already exist in MediaMarkt’s accepted brand list. If it doesn’t, contact the marketplace to request it.

Depending on the category, MediaMarkt may also require:

  • color
  • weight
  • device type
  • manufacturer part number
  • energy information
  • EPREL ID
  • other technical attributes

Optional content can include extra images, product descriptions, lifestyle images, and local-language titles.

Make sure mapped values use the correct format and unit.

Image and title rules #

MediaMarkt applies strict content rules.

Main image:

  • minimum 1,500 px
  • JPG or PNG
  • RGB
  • white background
  • front-facing product
  • no watermark or promotional graphics

Product title:

  • use the product name only
  • don’t repeat the brand if it is mapped separately
  • avoid marketing phrases
  • avoid unnecessary features

These rules help keep listings consistent across MediaMarkt catalogs.

Pricing and promotions #

MediaMarkt supports discount pricing through Mirakl.

Depending on the pricing version:

  • Pricing v1 uses Discount price and date fields
  • Pricing v2 uses Strike price for the regular price and Price for the discounted price

FAQ #

Why was my listing rejected? #

Typical causes are:

  • missing EAN / GTIN
  • unsupported brand
  • missing category fields
  • invalid title
  • image rule violations
  • wrong price or currency
  • invalid discount settings

Review M2E Mirakl Connect validation messages before changing the listing.

Can I sell refurbished products? #

Yes. MediaMarkt supports refurbished products. Make sure the correct product condition is sent through the Offer state field.
