This guide covers the main steps for setting up Macy’s Marketplace with M2E Mirakl Connect.
Macy’s runs its marketplace on Mirakl. Product content, offers, inventory, and orders follow Mirakl workflows, while Macy’s applies its own catalog and seller requirements.
M2E Mirakl Connect helps growing and established sellers manage these operations at scale. You can use it to:
- send product and offer data,
- keep inventory and prices updated,
- import orders into your store,
- sync shipping and tracking information,
- review marketplace errors and validation results.
After setup, M2E keeps your store and Macy’s connected through the Mirakl API.
ℹ️ The same general workflow applies to many other Mirakl marketplaces available through M2E.
Outside M2E Mirakl Connect #
Macy’s is one of the best-known retail brands in the US. Its marketplace allows selected third-party brands and retailers to sell alongside Macy’s own assortment.
Key categories include apparel, accessories, beauty, home, furniture, electronics, and toys.
Macy’s expects sellers to maintain complete catalog data and dependable fulfillment. Products with missing or poor-quality information may not pass marketplace validation.

Before you apply #
Macy’s primarily works with sellers that already have the infrastructure needed for the US market.
You need:
- verified UPCs from GS1,
- a US tax ID and W-9,
- a US business address,
- warehouse operations in the US,
- a UPS account for customer returns.
Your catalog should also include strong product content, clear images, and consistent product identifiers.
Request seller account & access #
Start by submitting an application through the official Macy’s Marketplace website.
Approval is not automatic. Macy’s may review your assortment, pricing, fulfillment model, and ability to support marketplace operations.
After approval, Macy’s provides access to the Mirakl seller portal. You will need this access before connecting the account to M2E.
Cost of selling on Macy’s #
Macy’s doesn’t charge a standard setup or monthly platform fee.
- Setup: free
- Monthly subscription: none
- Commission: depends on category
- Payment schedule: twice per month
All marketplace prices are managed in USD.
Inside M2E Mirakl Connect #
M2E Mirakl Connect connects your Magento or Adobe Commerce environment with Macy’s Marketplace and helps automate daily marketplace operations.
Data is exchanged through the Mirakl API. This lets your team manage Macy’s from the same commerce system used for your main catalog and order workflow.
M2E can synchronize:
- offers,
- prices,
- inventory,
- marketplace orders,
- order status changes,
- tracking information.
For sellers managing large catalogs, this reduces manual updates and helps keep marketplace data consistent.
Connect Macy’s to M2E #
You need an active Macy’s seller account, Mirakl access, and valid API credentials before you can start.
To connect the marketplace:
- Install M2E Mirakl Connect for Adobe Commerce.
- Log in to your M2E account.
- Add your Macy’s Mirakl account.
- Provide the API URL and API key.
- Match existing Macy’s offers with the correct Magento products.
- Set up inventory, price, and order synchronization.
✅ Detailed setup instructions are available in the M2E Mirakl Connect User Guide.
Day-to-day management #
Once the connection is active, Magento can act as the main source of product, stock, and order data.
M2E sends catalog changes to Macy’s and brings marketplace orders back into Magento. Your team can continue using familiar internal processes while M2E handles the marketplace data exchange.
Match existing products or create new listings #
If your products are already listed on Macy’s, link those listings with the matching Magento SKUs.
This allows M2E to use the correct Magento product when it:
- sends stock updates,
- changes prices,
- updates offer data,
- imports new orders.
For products not yet available on Macy’s, you can create marketplace listings using your Magento catalog data.
After publication, price and quantity updates continue to sync through M2E.
Control product groups with policies #
Different parts of a large catalog often need different marketplace settings. Policies let you define these rules once and reuse them across multiple products.
You may create different policies for:
- brands,
- product lines,
- stock levels,
- pricing models,
- seasonal collections.
When a policy changes, the new rules apply to all products assigned to it. This helps teams manage catalog changes at scale and reduces repetitive listing updates.
Manage Macy’s categories #
Macy’s category structure determines which attributes are required for each product. A product assigned to the wrong category may fail validation or require the wrong set of attributes.
Check category mapping when you:
- add new products,
- connect existing offers,
- expand your assortment,
- resolve validation errors.
After selecting a category, review all required product fields before publishing or updating the listing.
Handle marketplace orders #
M2E can import Macy’s orders into Magento automatically.
With automatic order creation enabled, each eligible marketplace order becomes a Magento order and can move through your standard fulfillment process. Once the order ships, M2E can send the shipment confirmation and tracking number back to Macy’s.
Manual Magento order creation is also available when your internal process requires more control.
On the Macy’s marketplace side #
Macy’s Marketplace runs on Mirakl, but product data must also meet Macy’s retail standards.
The marketplace supports:
- catalog and offer management,
- order processing and cancellations,
- shipment and tracking updates,
- returns,
- carrier mapping,
- invoice settings,
- settlement reports.
Macy’s doesn’t support marketplace fulfillment, automatic repricing, HTML content, multi-location stock, or bundles.
Catalog data Macy’s requires #
Macy’s checks product content carefully before approving listings.
Required fields include:
- Product title – 50-70 characters, including the brand
- Description – plain text, maximum 1,000 characters
- Main image – minimum 1000 × 1000 px, white background
- UPC – GS1 verified
- Brand and country of origin
- Key features
- Dimensions and weight
- NRF codes for color, size, and tax
Incomplete product data or images that don’t meet the requirements may stop a listing from going live.
Offer and pricing rules #
Prices must be provided in USD.
For promotions:
- the discounted price must be below the base price,
- promotion dates must be valid,
- bulk pricing needs a quantity threshold.
Some promotional options, including strikethrough pricing, may require setup directly in Mirakl.
Fulfillment and tax attributes #
Several fields control how Macy’s handles shipping and tax:
- Lead time to shipment
- NRF product tax code
- Logistic class
- Minimum stock alert
Packing slips are required for all orders. Returns go through UPS, and tracking details must be accurate.
FAQ #
Why is my Macy’s listing rejected? #
Check for:
- missing or invalid UPCs,
- missing required attributes,
- incorrect images,
- invalid product titles or descriptions,
- missing NRF codes.
Correct the data and export the product again.
Where do I check validation errors? #
Start with the validation and export results in M2E Mirakl Connect.
For marketplace-side details:
- Open the Macy’s Mirakl portal.
- Go to Catalog → Product imports.
- Open the latest import.
- Download the error report.
The Mirakl report can show additional reasons why a product failed validation.
