How to Change an ASIN for Amazon Product in M2E Pro

2 min read

If you need to change the ASIN assigned to a product in your Amazon integration via M2E Pro, please follow the steps below. This is the standard workflow, as Amazon does not allow changing the ASIN directly for an existing SKU.

Step-by-Step Instructions #

1. Stop and Remove the Existing Listing #

  • In M2E Pro, navigate to Amazon > Listings.
  • Find the product you want to update.
  • Stop the listing and remove it from your M2E Pro listing.

2. Prepare Your Product Data #

  • If you want to assign your product to a different existing ASIN, make sure the product’s identifiers (UPC/EAN) match the new ASIN you want to use.
  • If you want to create a new ASIN, ensure all required product data is completed and the correct product type is assigned.

3. Add the Product Back to Your Listing #

  • Add the product to the appropriate M2E Pro listing.
  • M2E Pro will attempt to match the product with an existing ASIN based on the identifiers you provided.

4. For Creating a New ASIN #

  • Switch to Settings view mode.
  • Select the Assign action under “Product Type”.

Complete all required product data fields.

5. Use a New SKU When Assigning to a Different ASIN #

  • Amazon does not allow the exact SKU to be linked to two different ASINs.
  • If you need to assign your product to a new ASIN, create a new SKU for the product.

6. (Optional) SKU Modification in M2E Pro #

SKU Modification in M2E Pro
  • You can use the SKU modification feature in M2E Pro to automatically add a prefix, suffix, or generate a new SKU value.
  • Important: After listing the product, turn off the SKU modification setting to prevent changes to other products.
