Amazon FBA Fees: General Overview #
To determine your total costs, simply sum up these charges based on your chosen fulfillment options and product specifications.
ℹ️ Note: We recommend you read our related documentation to discover Amazon FBA fees USA structure.
1. Fulfillment Fees #
The fixed cost per unit is determined by the product’s size and weight.
- Envelopes, oversized items, and low-priced FBA products – Fees are based on actual unit weight.
- Parcels and standard oversize items – You will be charged based on either the actual weight or the dimensional weight, whichever is higher. Amazon is simplifying the fee structure for oversized products by reducing the number of weight-size bands from 28 to 17. Instead of fixed bands, a base rate with incremental per-kilogram charges will be introduced. This adjustment aims to make fees more predictable and better aligned with fulfillment costs.
Additionally, in 2025, the minimum sales fee for special oversized items sold through FBA will be reduced from £25/€25 to £20/€20 - Dimensional weight formula (kg): (Length × Width × Height in cm³) ÷ 5000.
2. Storage Fees #
- Standard fee – Based on warehouse location and stock volume.
- Aged inventory surcharge – This applies after 241 days.
- Storage utilization surcharge – Applies to pro sellers with an inventory-to-sales ratio over 22 weeks, excluding clothing, eyewear, shoes, and bags.
3. Optional Service Fees #
These additional services help manage your inventory and returns. Fees apply per unit and include:

Monthly Storage Fees #
Amazon applies monthly storage fees based on the calendar month and daily average inventory volume in fulfillment centers, with measurement units varying by region.
- United Kingdom – Cubic feet;
- Other European marketplaces – Cubic meters;
The unit’s dimensions determine the storage volume when properly packaged and ready for shipment, following FBA program policies.
Components of Monthly Storage Fees
- Base Monthly Storage Fee – Varies based on product size and the time of year.
- Storage Utilization Surcharge – An additional charge for the base storage fee.
Storage Utilization Surcharge #
It is determined by the storage utilization ratio, which measures how efficiently inventory is managed over time.
The storage utilization ratio is calculated as:
Average daily inventory volume stored ÷ Average daily shipped volume (over the past 13 weeks).
This ratio is calculated separately for each product size tier, excluding clothing, eyewear, shoes, and bags. As a result, sellers may have:
- One utilization ratio for standard-size products (excluding the exempted categories).
- A separate utilization ratio for oversized products.
Aged Inventory Surcharge #
The aged inventory surcharge is an additional fee applied to overstocked inventory that remains in Amazon’s fulfillment centers for an extended period (between 241 and 270 days across all European stores). This charge helps Amazon manage warehouse space more efficiently by prioritizing fast-selling products that meet customer demand.
The surcharge is applied on top of standard storage fees and is designed to encourage sellers to optimize inventory levels, preventing excessive stock from occupying fulfillment center space.

If you choose liquidation, Amazon charges:

This fee applies to products exceeding the category return rate threshold, calculated as the percentage of units shipped and returned within the same month or the following two months.
